Born in 1930, I am Grethe Bambach and I grew up during the Third Reich. Now as an 85 year old lady, I've become very intrigued in learning about my confusing childhood. While there are some horrors that I will never be able to share, I understand that my experiences can really help people understand what it was like to grow up during the Third Reich.
I do not feel as if I've impacted history. What I lived through has impacted me, I just went along with what was happening. My experiences can help others understand WWII because they show the viewpoints of a child growing up during the Third Reich and how we were not always aware of what was going on. It is important that I share what I've been through because there have been some lost voices in WWII and as long and I can help make others aware of what really went on, then I have not lost my voice.
